How NPerseus Research Lab handles personal information on nperseus.com.
Last updated 6 September 2026
Who we are
nperseus.com is the website of NPerseus Research Lab, a research group in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Delhi Technological University, Shahbad Daulatpur, Main Bawana Road, Delhi 110042, India. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the public website and to the members-only area used by lab members.
Information we collect
- Contact form. If you write to us through the contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use them only to read and reply to your enquiry.
- Sign-in for lab members. The members-only area uses Google sign-in. When a member signs in, Google shares their name, email address and profile picture with us. Sign-in is restricted to email addresses the lab has already registered as members or administrators — or, when the lab has configured an allowed institutional email domain for self-service onboarding, to any Google account on that domain, which is registered as a base member on first sign-in. Other Google accounts are refused and nothing about them is stored.
- Member profiles. Lab members may provide profile information (such as biography, photo, publications and project roles) for display on the Team pages. Public display of a profile happens only after review by the lab.
- Technical data. Like every website, our servers and content-delivery provider record standard access logs: IP address, browser type, requested pages and timestamps. We use these to keep the site secure and to diagnose problems.
We do not run advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies needed to operate it: a session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie for signed-in members, and a short-lived token used by the Cloudflare Turnstile bot check on forms. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
How information is used
- To answer enquiries sent through the contact form.
- To authenticate lab members and show them their own workspace.
- To publish reviewed member profiles, publications and project information on the public site.
- To protect the site against abuse and to keep it running.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Mumbai, India) and delivered through Cloudflare, which also provides the Turnstile bot check. Google provides the sign-in service for members. For internal research-assistant features, non-restricted research text (never content marked sponsor-restricted, patent-sensitive or embargoed) may be sent to DeepSeek, a third-party AI provider, to generate a summary or answer; restricted content is always processed locally instead. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us.
Retention
Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle them. Member account and profile data is kept while the person is a member of the lab and is reduced to an alumni record, or removed, when they leave. Access logs are rotated automatically. Backups are retained for a limited period for recovery purposes only.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop displaying a profile. Lab members can edit their own profile from the members area. For any request, use the contact page. Where Indian data-protection law or other applicable law grants you further rights, we will honour them.
Security
All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to the members area and to administrative tools is limited to authenticated, authorised lab members. Private files uploaded by members are not served publicly.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
